Google Analytics: How to turn on Site Search and E-Commerce reporting in Google Analytics
1. In SearchSpring, enable Google Analytics integration from the Display tab:
- Enter your GA Tracking ID (e.g. "UA-XXXXXX-1")
- Enter your domain name with a leading period, just as it should be for the _setDomainName() call (e.g. ".example.com")
- Save the display settings
2. Enable Ecommerce and Site Search reporting in the GA Website Profile:
Go to Edit Profile Settings
- Click Edit in the “Main Website Profile Information” section
- Under the E-Commerce Website section, check "Yes, an E-Commerce Site"
- Under the Site Search section, check “Do Track Site Search”
- For Query Parameter enter “q,query”
- Select “No, do not strip query parameters out of URL”
- Select No for “Do you use categories for site search?”
- Save your settings

Once complete, you’ll start to see data under the Content → Site Search (left navigation) section in the Google Analytics reports.
Additionally, to view your Google Analytics data on the SearchSpring Dashboard:
- Add analytics@b7interactive.com as a user to your Google Analtyics Website Profile.
