Google Analytics Integration
Integrate SearchSpring with Google Analytics
To enable Google Analytics Site Search reporting:
1. Be sure that all existing Google Analytics tracking code uses the following directive across your entire website (homepage, product & category pages, checkout, blog, etc…):
pageTracker._setDomainName(".example.com");
This will allow proper tracking of user activity across all sub-domains under the same Google Analytics profile. Example: www.example.com, blog.example.com, search.example.com, etc. will all be reported as a single website.
For more information, see the GA docs:
http://code.google.com/apis/analytics/docs/...

2. In SearchSpring, enable Google Analytics integration from the Display tab:
- Enter your GA Tracking ID (e.g. "UA-XXXXXX-1")
- Enter your domain name with a leading period, just as it should be for the _setDomainName() call (e.g. ".example.com")
- Save the display settings
3. Finally, enable Ecommerce and Site Search reporting in the GA Website Profile:
Go to Edit Profile Settings
- Click Edit in the “Main Website Profile Information” section
- Under the E-Commerce Website section, check "Yes, an E-Commerce Site"
- Under the Site Search section, check “Do Track Site Search”
- For Query Parameter enter “q,query”
- Select “No, do not strip query parameters out of URL”
- Select No for “Do you use categories for site search?”
- Save your settings
Once complete, you’ll start to see data under the Content → Site Search (left navigation) section in the Google Analytics reports.
Additionally, to share your Google Analytics data with the SearchSpring team:
- Add analytics@b7interactive.com as a user to your Google Analtyics Website Profile.
The information helps us to provide personalized suggestions to SearchSpring customers and gives our team with useful feedback for future product development.
