Setup Wizard - Field Types
Field Types
In order to properly index your data feed, we need to know what data types your fields are. We do our best to make guesses based upon the contents of the data, but you should review these field types.

Field Type
Select the field type that best suits the field. Generally, whole numbers are numbers without a decimal portion, decimal numbers are numbers with decimal portions, and text can be anything. Selecting ignore for the field type will ignore this field completely, you will not be able to use this field at all within SearchSpring.
Multi-valued
Sometimes the value for fields can have multiple values, if a field does so check this box. In our example shoe store, each shoe comes in multiple sizes and the data feed has these sizes as a comma separated list within the feed (example 9,9.5,10,10.5,11,11.5,12,13).
Multi-valued Delimiter
If a field is multi-valued you must also select the multi-valued delimiter, the character that separates values. This value can be a comma, semicolon, or pipe.
Update Fields
The update fields button will re-validate your data feed and build new fields that are found in your data feed that did not exist previously.

Data Preview
The data preview is included in each field settings page. It shows the first 25 records found in your data feed and the fields that relate to those 25 records. If there is a field that only exists in records beyond the first 25 they will not be included in this preview. This preview is useful to check your data when setting up fields.
