The Messaging Recommendation intelligence is created in Searchspring and then injected into Klaviyo. Let's take a look at how this is done.
Generate a Messaging Recommendation
Navigate to Personalized Recommendations in the Search Management Console (SMC) to get started. The rest of this process is described in the steps below.
- Click Messaging Recommendations
- Click “Add New Profile” in the top right
- Select the type of campaign and recommendation you'd like to use
- Give your profile a name and enter the number of product recommendations you'd like to include in an email blast. You may recommend up to 10 products in an email. All SMS Recommendations will only contain one product recommendation.
- When you save the profile, two tabs will appear on the page: one for email and another for SMS.
Add Email Product Recommendation to Klaviyo
- Click the email tab in your Messaging Recommendation
- Click the Email HTML to copy it to your clipboard
- Log into Klaviyo and navigate to your Klaviyo Flow
- Click the three dots on the top right of an Email Action
- Click “Edit” and then "Edit Email" on the preview of your email template
- Click “Edit Email”
- Drag and drop a text block into your template. The location of this text block determines where the Email Recommendation carousel will appear in your email.
- Select Source Code Icon on the text block editor
- Delete the placeholder text and paste in the copied html. Click Save to preview your email template. Please note that you need to wait 10 minutes before previewing or testing a new profile to make sure it is live.
Add SMS Product Recommendation to Klaviyo
- Click the SMS tab in your Messaging Recommendation
- Click the SMS Link to copy it to your clipboard
- Log into Klaviyo and navigate to your Klaviyo Flow
- Click the three dots on the top right of an SMS Action
- Click “Edit” and paste the SMS Link into the Message Content Box
- Enabled the Automatically shorten links checkbox
- Return to the SMS tab in the SMC and click the SMS Image to copy it to your clipboard
