Internal Article: BigCommerce Data Connection
In order to set up your BigCommerce Data Feed, we will need you to create an API Account for us. This can only be done by the Store Owner.
API Settings need to be updated in SMC if reset in BigCommerce Admin
When logged in to BigCommerce as the Store Owner user, please follow the directions below:
- Go to "Settings" in the BigCommerce Admin area
- In the "API" section select "Store-level API accounts".
- Click the "Create API Account" button and select "Create V2/V3 API Token"
- For the Name field, enter "Searchspring"
- For the OAuth Scopes, select:
- Content: read-only
- Products: read-only
- Theme: read-only
- Customers: read-only (required for Personalization)
- Orders: read-only (required for Personalization)
- Channel Listings: read-only (required for Multi-Storefront)
-
Channel Settings: read-only (required for Multi-Storefront)
- Everything else: None
- Click Save at the page's lower right-hand corner
After Saving, this will automatically Download a .txt file to your computer. Send this .txt file back to your Searchspring contact and we will reach out again should any issues arise with the data connection.
There will not be a separate button to click for the file Download; this download will happen automatically. Check the "Downloads" folder on your computer after Saving the API Account.
For more information, see the Store API Accounts article provided by BigCommerce Support.
BigCommerce Multi-Storefront
If your BigCommerce store is set up to use Multi-Storefront, you are able to select the storefront you would like to use as the Data Feed.
