Searchspring sends data to Yotpo that can be used to create personalized segments for your messaging campaigns. The data fields provided can be leveraged to target specific groups. Because Searchspring is already tracking and calculating multiple metrics on each registered customer, we are able to append that data to Yotpo customer records so it can be used in Yotpo for segmentation purposes.
Segments can be defined based on customer attributes or behaviors.
Authorizing connection to Yotpo
This step is required to allow Searchspring to upload the customer attributes discussed above to Yotpo's customer records. You can then use that data to create segments for your marketing automation campaigns. In the Searchspring Management Console (SMC), in the main menu, select "Data", then click "External Authorizations".
On the External Authorizations page, scroll to the Yotpo section and click the "Manage Connections" button to connect your Searchspring account with Yotpo.
Note: You can associate multiple web sites with a single connection for Yotpo.
Click "Add New Yotpo Connection" to authorize a connection to Yotpo. The following pop-up window will appear:
Click within the "Choose Websites" Search box to select a site to add.
The screen will display the selected web site(s).
Once you have selected your sites, click the "Authorize" button to confirm connection with your account. Clicking the "Authorize" button will open a new browser window, where you will log into your Yotpo account and complete the authorization process.
Managing existing connections
You can manage existing connections or add more connections by clicking the "Manage Connections" button.
If you wish to add sites to your existing connection, click "Manage" to manage the existing connection.
Click within the "Choose Websites" search box and select another site to add.
Next, select the "Update Websites" button to confirm your choice.
If you wish to remove an existing connection, click the "Manage" button.
You will then see any websites configured for this connection, each of which has a delete icon (a trash can) to the right. Click the delete icon to delete the selected website.
Configuring segments
Once you have established a connection, data will be uploaded periodically to append metrics to your customer records in Yotpo. Please allow 24 hours for the first set of data to populate. Then you can log into Yotpo to begin setting up segments. From the home page in Yotpo, click the app grid in the top left corner (1), then click "SMS & Email" (2).
Click the "Audience" section and click "Lists & Segments" to see your existing segments or to create new ones. All Yotpo segments are shown in the table on this page.
Create a new segment by clicking the "Create Audience" button at the top right of this page.
In the new window that appears, select a method to begin your new personalized segment using Searchspring data fields. For this example, we've chosen the "Build manually" option.
Build manually
In the next window, you will choose custom Searchspring fields to build your segment. This is the preferred method for Searchspring users.
In the "Choose condition" drop-down, select "Customer details", then choose "Custom profile property". This will give you access to specialty fields specific to Searchspring.
Select a value from the drop-down list on the right, then configure the segment. In this example, we have chosen "ss_OrderCountLast30Days" as a number with a value equaling at least 1.
In the second condition, we have chosen the field "ss_LifetimeValue" with a value equaling 80-100% (highest) to pull the customers who have purchased the most over time.
Title the segment using the Edit icon at the top of the page.
Once your segment has been configured, the system will display the segment size and the number of customers who can be reached via SMS or Email.
Click the "Save segment" button in the top right corner.
