Once you have created a custom audience in Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
Go to Data>>Google Analytics to reconnect to the customers analytics account as shown below
When you click on reconnect you will need to re-authenticate to allow Searchspring to access the account. Select 'Allow' to enable GA4 API connection (you may see this if you are connecting for the first time)
Select the appropriate property for the given website. To ensure you are connecting to the right one please reference the Property #
If you connect to the incorrect property ID, you will see the below message
"We were not able to find the relevant property ID, please ensure that you are connecting to the right GA4 property number and then reconnect using these steps"
If the audience name is not set up correctly (name or configurations provided are wrong) you will see an error message asking you to correct those.
If audience has an incorrect name, you will see the below message
"Error connecting to audience due to incorrect naming convention. Please correct this to 'searchspring' on your analytics account to proceed"
If audience has incorrect configuration, you will see the below message
"We detected incorrect audience set up please follow this article and retry"
When audience set up is correct you will see the below screen, you should now be able to view your reports.
Once you have successfully added your GA4 audience Navigate to Reports section to verify you see data on
- Dashboard - Search Performance
- Search Insights report
- Google Analytics Insight report
- Category report (applies if those have been configured for the site)
