This article will help guide you to verify site search tracking on Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
Please follow the steps below
In the Admin panel navigate to 'Data Streams' settings
Click on the website you want to enable or verify site search settings
First ensure that you have enabled 'Enhanced measurement' as shown above. Then select the little gear icon on the right to expand this enhanced settings list. Make sure that 'Site search' setting is enabled.
You can further verify your 'Site search' settings by clicking on the 'Show advanced settings' to verify that your site is using one of the query parameters listed in the box. If it is not you can add that in.
Some sites use different search parameters such as 'searchterm'. You'll want to ensure the search parameter used on your site is included in this field.
for example : https://www.testshop.com/search.aspx?searchterm=dress
Make sure you save your changes before exiting the Enhanced measurement tab.
Note : Query parameters cannot have additional characters like "_", "-" etc. If you need such query parameters you will need to reach out the Searchspring support team for this change needs to be updated with your Searchspring Integration/White Glove service.
