By default, Searchspring will treat variations of words as a single word the same. If you would like to override this behavior, you can use Exact Match inside the Management Console. This page can be accessed by expanding the "Synonyms" menu in the left navigation. Added words will generate search results that are specific only to that keyword.
A shoe store has a number of different running shoes and a brand called "Fast Run Shoes". As "run" and "running" would all be considered the same when searching for products, the retailer may choose to override this behavior by setting up a match for "running" or "run". After these matches have been added, "running shoes" only return types of running shoes and "run shoes" only returns shoes by the brand "Fast Run Shoes".
Add Word
New words may be added by clicking on the Add Word button. A window will popup where you can enter a single word. After entering the word, click the "Save changes" button in the bottom right corner.

The Word column shows you the words you have added.
Enable
IMPORTANT! In order for an exact word match to be processed, the Enable checkbox must be checked. This change automatically saves. If you want to disable a word, but not delete it, the change is as simple as unchecking this box. Any updates to this checkbox will take effect the next time Searchspring updates your search index.
